Biography

Michael Pigg McKay

Mike McKay is CTO and co-founder of RF Connect. He has background in managing, innovating, and developing communications systems and networks, and has designed, implemented, and managed complex national, regional, campus, enterprise, and building networks for twenty years, including both wired and wireless systems. He was VP of Technical Services for Clover Technologies, a leading national network integrator, and helped develop the company for its eventual acquisition by Ameritech/SBC. McKay was a founder of and partner in Clover/Plexus, providing high-end training on data, voice and video networks. He was the communications program manager for the University of Michigan Replacement Hospitals Program and managed the complete redesign and replacement of the voice, data, nurse call, two-way radio, radio paging, satellite, and television systems for this major medical center. McKay was corporate telecommunications manager for American Motors and supervisor of systems programming for EDS. He helped establish the communications training programs at Washtenaw Community College and at Focus: Hope. He holds and has held many certifications and industry association membership, has spoken to numerous professional and academic meetings, and has written many articles on telecommunications topic. Michael received his bachelor of science in computer science and international economics from Georgetown University and is completing an MBA at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He is married to Nancy McKay, the silk artist; they have five children and live in Ann Arbor.
